Five on Friday

I'm linking up for five on Friday because I have such a hodgepodge of things to share so I thought it would be good to break it up! We've been so busy lately and life just keeps on trucking by.

1. New School: Unfortunately, our childcare that we had set up for sweet Aubrey unexpectedly and suddenly had to cancel on us. We were quickly put into a bind, and had to find alternate plans for Aubrey two days a week. Thankfully we have found an awesome Early Learning Center that I just love. Her teachers are precious and really care for Aubrey. They send me pictures and text all throughout the day. Bre has had a difficult time adjusting to the sudden change, but she is doing much better and I just know long term this is what is best for her!

These are just a few of the texts I have gotten from her teachers of her throughout the day! Makes this mama so happy to see my girl adjusting!

2. Swimming: Aubrey has been soaking up the last few weeks of summer and swimming in her pool is a must! It's so nice to be able to let her go wild in the water while mommy puts her feet up for a moment!

I have also been swimming two days a week at the Y. Swimming laps saved me during my first pregnancy with Aubrey and it has been a lifesaver once again. I feel like a million bucks after swimming laps for half an hour.

3. Hot Air Balloons: We spent the evening together and drove out to Gonzales for the annual Balloon Festival. It was a great evening with my loves. Aubrey loved getting to see the balloons and watching them light up the sky. She especially loved snuggling with daddy and shoveling in ice cream!

4. 24 Weeks: I am officially 6 months pregnant! WOW! Has time flown by. I've had an awesome few months and am feeling great. I don't have the reflux/indigestion that I had with Aubrey and it makes all the difference in the world. I have had a few spells where my heart starts racing and I feel faint (I did pass out once, but thankfully Christian was right there to catch me). The doctor says it's okay and just my body changing! Baby boy is still nameless; however, I'm hoping we can come to a decision soon!

5. My mom/my lifesaver: I just want to take a moment to say how amazing my mom has been these past few weeks. She has gone above and beyond her calling as a MeMe to help me out. She has basically put her life on hold and saved me from having to quit my job. I can not even begin to think where I would be without her. She will do anything to make herself available when I need her and is always putting her children and grandchildren above her needs. She knows life with a 2 year old and being pregnant isn't easy, and is always doing her best to make things easier for me. In my eyes, she is wonder woman! I so appreciate that I can count on you, Mom! Christian and I are so thankful for all you do for us and Aubrey on a daily basis.

Beach Trip 2013

One of my favorite weeks out of the year is when we go to the beach with my family. It's such a time of relaxation, amazing food and lots of sun. It's also nice because we usually go during Labor Day, which gives me a much needed break from the stress of school starting back. Aubrey is at such a fun age, and she totally gets what we are doing. She actually gets excited and understands that something fun is coming up. I think more than anything she was excited to get to see her cousins.

When these four divas get together...it's nothing but fun. I love how it looks like Adlee has Aubrey in a headlock and Aubrey doesn't seem to mind a bit. She has a special sweet spot for Adlee.

My girl is in heaven. She just loves her cousins!  I have no idea what baby boy is gonna think about these four mother hens...he is in for a wild ride.

And of course we had to get donuts. These girls are spoiled rotten by Papa D when it comes to donuts so it's no surprise that they needed them while on the trip.

Although I must clarify...Aubrey doesn't actually eat the donut...she only eats the chocolate icing and sprinkles. Oh brother.

We had lots of fun hanging out by the pool, going on the lazy river, playing on the playground and visiting the beach. Aubrey isn't much of a fan of the beach...in fact she would through a fit if we made her get near the water. I think the noise was just too much for her. She kept saying, "Aubrey don't like the water."  Bless her little heart.

This is how we relax on the patio.

We always eat like kings when we go with my brother. He is an incredible chef and cooks some amazing dishes.

The girls' favorite dish was CC's chocolate chip cookie cake!  Notice Aubrey going in for round 2.

We loved hanging out with MeMe and Papa D. Poor Papa D didn't feel too good for a few days so it was a bummer, but we made the most of the times when he felt good!

And to top off our great vacation, we stopped off at the Shed on our way home. It's a pretty popular place for BBQ and even though it's literally just a shed, it had some great food. Bre just wanted Cheetos! HAHA!

We had a wonderful time at the beach and can't wait to bring baby brother back next year.

What a difference a year makes...it is crazy how quickly they grow up!

These boots are made for walking...

This little cutie has been an absolute hoot lately. She is talking like crazy and has a mind of her own. She constantly has us laughing. My sis in law gave Aubrey a pair of Hello Kitty rain boots and Aubrey has been obsessed with them. She wants to wear them constantly!

Boots are a must for walks...

For lounging in our diaper...

Boots are a must for Sunday morning dresses...

 For after school outfits...

I have about 10 of her in nothing but her boots, but I don't want to scar her for life by putting those on my blog! HAHA!

Aubrey has totally gone from being a baby/toddler to a little girl. She is talking in sentences and knows exactly what she wants and is pretty darn good at communicating her needs. She is hilarious and so full of personality!

She loves to put on hats, shoes, accessories, tutu's and various outfits. She is totally a girls girl!

Can't believe my little muffin will be 2 in just a month!
