Christmas 2011

We had a fabulous Christmas.  We stretched it out over multiple nights with various families and it was just lovely.  Friday night we went to a Christmas Now service at our church with both sides of our families and I can't even tell you how special it was to be celebrating the birth of our Saviour while holding the most precious gift I have ever been given.  After church we headed over to Brandon and Cherith's house for Ruffino's takeout and boy did it hit the spot!  We had a relaxing night just eating, talking and hanging out.

Saturday we woke up early and did our Christmas with just the three of us (four if you count Lex...and I am not counting her at the moment cause she is on my bad list) We had so much fun just being with our little family and getting to enjoy Aubrey's first Christmas...so special.

We didn't get Aubrey Lane too much...just a pair of pj's and a new little baby Einstein toy.  Baby girl didn't know any difference and she really didn't need anything...MeMe's and Nana's did all the spoiling this year.

Saturday evening we headed back over to Brandon's for his annual Prime Rib Christmas Eve Celebration.  We left there and headed straight to Christian's Maw Maw's for gumbo and fellowship.

Christmas Day, Christian had to work until 3 so it was just me and Bre Christmas morning.  I had these high expectations that we would get up early, stay in our pj's and head over to B&C's house to be with my family.  Well...I packed Aubrey up in the car and headed out...only to discover I couldn't find my keys.  Losing keys is one of the most infuriating things ever...after about 10 minutes of searching I was hysterically crying...LOL.  Yes...I admit I had a Christmas Morning meltdown.  After over an hour of searching I frantically called Christian at work to see if he had any clue where they might be...he calmly told me to look outside on the back patio.  Oh yeah...why didn't I think of that?  Sure enough homeboy had left them outside under the barbecue pit the night before while turning off Christmas lights.  Let's just say I wasn't filled with Christmas cheer towards my sweet hubby at that moment.

I composed myself and headed over to Brandon and Cherith's. We had a great time eating donuts and lounging in our pj's.  After about an hour of visiting, I packed up Aubrey and headed home for a quick nap before off to visit other family.  Christian got home at 3:00 and we headed to Nana and Papa's for our Christmas with them.  We had a blast that night...someone got Just Dance and the boys got a hold of it...and I laughed harder than I have ever laughed before.  Seeing Christian break out some never before seen moves was just priceless...that boy has got some serious talent!!

Overall it was a fabulous weekend.  Filled with  precious memories and lots of laughter and love.  We are so blessed with such amazing families and as our family grows we value those relationships even more.  This Christmas was ever so much more special with Aubrey.  I can't tell you how many times I was holding Aubrey, surrounded by loved ones, and just started to tear up.  God is so good.  He is so faithful and His will and timing is nothing but perfection.

What a wonderful Christmas 2011.

Phone Photo Clean-Up

Aubrey Lane had her 2 month shots recently and I must say she was a real trooper!  She got very mad and even shed a few tears (I had never seen her cry real tears, so I knew she was upset) but was quickly comforted by her daddy.   The saving grace of the day was "old Faithful" as we like to call the noonie.

Aubrey finally got to wear her handmade knitted dress that was made for her by a sweet lady at my work...isn't it just beautiful?!

We tried to be all creative and do a Christmas craft with Aubrey...we started our project and quickly realized we had the wrong paint...so we packed up Aubrey and ran to Hobby Lobby. Got home with the correct paint and proceeded to try again. We failed about 6 times and went through a whole pack of canvasses. After about 12 feet prints later...Aubrey had had enough. Here is our little princess stripped down and covered in paint...aren't we fabulous parents?
Here is our kitchen after the disaster that was Aubrey's first craft. I'm too embarrassed to even show the finished product...it's a piece only a mother could love! Ha!

We went with our families to Bass Pro for a photo with Santa.  Aubrey did fine...didn't even notice the big guy.  However Aubrey's sweet cousin Emorie Jayne was not so chill!  Poor baby was not amused by our attempts to get a photo with Santa.  Oh this makes me laugh!!!

And our week would not be complete without our signature pose...Praise the Lord!

Noonie buddies unite! Our sweet cousin Ciel!

And to top of our week, we got to spend sometime with our absolute favorite person...Uncle D!  Uncle D is one of the most special people I know and I am so thankful Aubrey is gonna get to grow up with him too!
What a busy and fun few weeks we have had!

Merry Christmas from the Moots Family

May this Christmas be filled with fun, fellowship, family and friends.  May you remember and keep Jesus in your Christmas and throughout the year.  We are blessed beyond belief to be celebrating Christmas this year with a new addition to our family and we couldn't be happier!  To all our friends and family...may you know how very special you are to us and always remember how much we love each and everyone of you!

Luke 2:14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”

Firehouse Reminders

Our subdivision is directly across the street from a fire station. We could literally throw a rock and hit a firetruck…(don’t think I haven’t had that thought cross my mind..read on). I’ve lived in this house for almost 3 years and never really even noticed the sirens. Perhaps my senses are heightened all of a sudden or maybe the sirens are new and improved and 10 times louder…I don’t know what the deal is but lately all I notice are those darn sirens. Don’t misunderstand me…I know sirens are necessary and very important in alerting others to get out of the way so the firetrucks can quickly and safely make it to the proper destination…I know deep down they are very much needed…but must they sound the siren every time they leave the fire station? Must all of our neighbors and myself know each time they are departing to fight a fire? Surely not…I mean…can’t they wait until they at least get to a main street where they must cross intersections or turn at a light? I know my frustration comes from having a baby napping and the desire to keep her napping is very important to me. It’s especially frustrating at 2:00 in the morning when you hear it go off and then your baby decides it’s time to wake up and play.

The other day Christian and I got into a disagreement about something and we were slightly annoyed with each other. It was something silly and I cannot even remember what it was about; however, Christian ended up having to leave quickly after our argument to go to an eye doctor appointment so we kinda left things unsettled. I went and got Aubrey for her next feeding and sat down on my bed. Next thing you know…I hear that ear piercing…heart stopping sound of the fire siren. This time it was different…My heart dropped…I’ve heard that sound literally hundreds of times in the past few months but all of a sudden I had this realization that someone…somewhere was in a dire situation. I literally had to catch my breath because for a moment my thoughts ran wild. What if something had just happened to Christian…perhaps he had gotten in a wreck at the nearby intersection. Was that firetruck on the way to rescue my loved one? I had those crazy thoughts of what if that argument was the last thing Christian and I discussed…what if the last words he heard from me were those of frustration and anger? I immediately called him and thankfully he was just fine. I told him I was sorry, that I loved him, and that I never wanted to argue again. He laughed and said he’d see how long I’d last on that last promise!

I still hear the fire sirens on a daily basis and instead of getting frustrated or annoyed with the interruption; I say a prayer thanking the Lord that my family is safe and healthy. I thank Him that I have loved ones with me and ask Him to never let me lose sight of the bigger picture…and naps are not the bigger picture. Family…Friends…Health…those are what is important. Not a day goes by that I don’t hear at least one fire truck siren go off…but now I hear it and am reminded of what this life is all about. I’m reminded that life is fleeting and we are but just one second away from life changing moments. During this busy season, when it’s so easy to get flustered or annoyed with others…I encourage you to pause and count your blessings. Thank Him for the gift of another day with your loved ones…the privilege of time with those we hold dear and cherish. Perhaps I should go and bake some cookies for that fire station and while I’m there I might slip them a list of Aubrey’s naptimes and ask if they would mind avoiding using their sirens during those hours...

Two Months Old

Throw your hands up in the air...Praise the Lord...Aubrey Lane you are TWO months old!!! (This is your signature pose...those hands are always up in the air) When I was pregnant time seemed to slowly pass by but now that your here time seems to fly by!
You weigh 9 pounds 3 ounces and are 21.5 inches long! You are in the 10th percentile for your weight and height…little Miss Petite thing. You still wear a size newborn diaper but are quickly growing out of those…I’m going to have to start putting you in a size 1 very shortly. You still wear newborn sized clothes as well as 0-3 months.

You are still on a 3 hour feeding schedule and you are nursing like a champ. You feed for about 15 minutes total and are ready to go after that!
You love playing on your mat…just staring up at this little bird who sings (very annoying) songs. You love to sit in your swing or on the boppy…anywhere that you can look around and just watch the action. You are extremely easy going and never get your panties in a wad. If you cry, I know it’s something important because it’s just so rare to hear you cry. Although you do get upset when I break out the bows…girlfriend, you are not a fan of the headbands…much to mommy’s dismay.

Your grunting has slowed down but you still use grunting as your main source of communication!
You have starting sleeping through the night! Praise Jesus! We feed you around 10:30 and then you usually sleep until 5:30 or 6:00. You are sleeping in your own room because the grunting all night was just unbearable!

You still love riding in the car as long as we are moving. When we come to a red light or stop sign you let me know you are not pleased by doing some more grunting! Ha!

Bathtime is your all time favorite thing…I think because I swam so much during my pregnancy…you have a love for all things water related!

Daddy is your favorite by far…mommy spends all day feeding/changing/playing with you and I get nothing…but the moment daddy walks in the door from work you just lavish him with smiles!  I’m a tad bit jealous, I must say!

You have totally stolen my heart and I can’t imagine life without you. Can’t wait to celebrate your first Christmas this month! You are such a little doll and I love you from here to the moon and back times a million.
Perhaps this is why you hate bows so much!  LOL.

We love you Miss Bre Bre!!

Friday Phone Extract

This is how I found her when I went to wake her up! She constantly has one or both of her hands raised...even when she is sleeping. She starts off swaddled but low and behold she always breaks free!
 It's so cute!

We went and ate lunch with Miss Adlee Shay.  It was so sweet to see her face light up when she saw us...she is the most precious little girl ever!  We sat together and talked while she ate...(I passed on "lunch" because it was 10:15...seriously...K-5 eats lunch at 10:15...that my friends is what I call breakfast!) Adlee held my hand while we walked to and from her classroom...priceless.

Aubrey Lane loves her Lexie Lou.  I on the other hand am finding Lex to be a pain in my rear...we are having a love/hate relationship lately.  Pray for Lex...

Pretty girl all dressed and ready to go!  I waited my whole life to have a girl so I could dress her in cute dresses and frilly bows.  Well...Miss AL hates bows...totally despises them...the only way I can usually get them on her head is to wait until she's asleep and slip it on.

"What you looking at Daddy?"

Again...snuck that bow on while she was sleeping...it's only a matter of moments before she will realize it's there and start fussing and grabbing at it!

So Dog Gone Cute...

My content little sweetie.  I can't believe she is my child sometimes cause she is so easy going and laid back.  She definitely takes after her daddy's personality.

I recently had a friend ask me if I scrap booked and I was embarrassed to say no...but later on I realized I kinda do scrapbook...this blog is the story of our lives and it documents our days just perfectly.  I started looking back at my blog and it's so neat because I started blogging just months before Christian and I got married...and look at us now.  In a way blogging is even better than scrap booking because loved ones near and far can join in and see the special moments of our lives and the day to day things as well.  So I thought I'd encourage you to start a blog or pick back up if you've left off...blogging is such an awesome way to document life.  It's okay if the only ones reading your blog are your mom and mother in law!
(Hi mom...Hi Mrs. Brenda)

Start writing your life story...document your journey and enjoy the friends you pick up along the way!

Christmas Card Overload

I thought this would be a slow year for Christmas cards but boy was I wrong.  I did almost 20 cards this year!! I didn't even do one for our family this year...I've just been too busy with all these others!
Which ones are your favorite?

Most of the photography is done by my cousin.  Check her out at http://www.jenniferanne.com/
